Description

As a Construction Testing Field Technician, you will perform light to moderate labor-intensive field and lab duties and testing under the direction of other technicians or staff professionals with minimal analysis of data required. This full-time position will work out of the Cranston, RI location with occasional local travel within RI and MA.

  • Perform field and occasional lab testing of soils, concrete and asphalt to determine compliance with project specifications.
  • All testing reports and observations must be tabulated and submitted daily in an electric report
  • Reading and interpreting project drawings and specifications, and entering data related to the various job tasks.
  • You will be required to keep equipment clean and in good working order.
  • Interact with construction personnel, engineers and state and federal representatives while presenting yourself as a professional representative of the company.
  • Responsible for transporting material samples to laboratory for further testing and analysis
  • Driving and maintaining the appearance and operation of company vehicles to and from job sites.
  • All work with be conducted in accordance with OSHA regulations and TEI Safety standards
  • This job operates in both a professional office environment as well as on a variety of outdoor job sites
  • Position will entail occasional exposure to outside work, dusty environments as well as sedentary work.

  • Lifting up to and over 50 lbs. in both a vertical and horizontal range of motion.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and clean record, driving company vehicle(s) is/are required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Google docs
  • Ability to obtain certifications from OSHA, NICET, NETTCP, ICC and ACI within first year of employment is required
