We are currently hiring a General Manager at Sam Adams Boston Brewery in Boston, MA (neighborhood of Jamaica Plain).

The General Manager is responsible for leading and driving the growth of the location, acting as the "face" of the brand, and being the main point of contact for local partnerships, organizations, and nearby neighbors. In addition to overseeing all day to day operations, the GM will promote the brand through direct customer and community appeal with retail activities, tours, and events. They will define the culture, lead the journey, and help set the tone to be a great community partner and a fun, interactive tour destination. The GM is responsible for developing and delivering the annual business plan and closely monitoring expenses and overhead for the brewery as a whole to achieve budgetary performance in alignment with the budget and market conditions.

What you'll brew:

  • Develop and maintain the organizational culture in alignment with the brand and corporate standards
  • Oversee and ensure team compliance with all operational standards while fostering a climate of constant improvement
  • Plan (forecast) and manage annual budget, P&L, monthly detail for all teams and functions
  • Responsible for creation and execution of successful programming to achieve annual business plans (and management of relative budgets)
  • Direct management of key staff (managers/leads, bartenders, brewery ambassadors, etc) and oversight for the 30+ total coworkers
  • Developing high potential employees towards career growth and fostering a climate of promotion from within and across the entire organization
  • Responsible for the development and continued growth of the taproom, tour center, and retail location, while working with the BBC Head Chef to drive a high quality food program
  • Ensure the highest levels of food and beverage safety practices are maintained at all time; full compliance with all alcohol regulations with a specific focus on responsible serving
  • Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining of engaged & high-performing coworkers
  • Provides regular and meaningful feedback to coworkers through development, coaching, and comprehensive performance reviews that focuses on learning, growth, and continuous improvement

What ingredients you'll bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4yr/Bachelor's Degree
  • 8+ years in the food and beverage or hospitality industry with strong growth track record
  • Strong budgetary, financial, labor management, and cost control experience
  • Experience in project planning, facilities management, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Experience in event planning, promotions, and community relations building
  • Proven ability to prioritize, make decisions, and manage in a fast-paced environment

Level: 5

In accordance with pay transparency lawsthe salary range for this role if hired is $71,400 - $124,800 annually based on location and the experience level of the candidate. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on individual and company performance. Certain sales positions are also eligible for car allowance.
