Overview

Benefits Representative

Electric Boat currently employs over 18,000 employees with locations in Connecticut and Rhode Island, and satellite offices all across the globe. With such a dependence on a healthy workforce; a strong Employee Benefits team in a necessity.

As a Benefits Representative you may be responsible for the following various tasks:

Administer Electric Boat's benefit programs for salaried, hourly non represented and hourly represented employees and retirees.

Interface with health care vendors and providers in order to integrate services and maximize benefit value to Electric Boat employees.

Evaluate the effectiveness and afford-ability of benefit programs through trend analysis, research and interface with vendors, GD corporate benefits and other key stakeholders.

Make recommendations on health plan designs and contribution strategy

Conduct benefit briefings for various audiences; including annual enrollment and throughout the year to educate and train employees on benefits and to promote quality and cost awareness and consumerism.

Engage employee population to promote new benefit offerings

Communications and outreach to both employees and spouses through newsletters and other communication vehicles

Qualifications

Requirements:

    High School diploma
  • Minimum 3 years related benefit / HR experience
  • Internal canidates must be from organizations outside of operations (Gabriel & Casciano)

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in Human Resources, Communications, Business, Economics or Health Care Field preferred.
  • Prior experience in Customer service and project management
