COMPANY: National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak)
TITLE: Senior Principal Systems Engineer
LOCATION:Washington, D.C. and various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. (remote position)


DUTIES: Designs, builds, and presents architecture that will last beyond current initiative on Salesforce multi-cloud Platform/Products. Confirms clear User Stories and follows Agile development methodology and robust testing regimen to deliver quality code. Prepares and deploys solutions by determining and designing system specifications and programming standards. Creates and updates Functional/Technical Design documentation to ensure current as-deployed system documentation. Designs solutions that consume Salesforce Licenses features effectively, and limits technical debt on the Salesforce Platform. Performs code reviews of development teams to ensure applicable coding, security, and quality standards are followed. Determines operational feasibility by evaluating analysis, problem definition, requirements, solution development, and proposed solutions. Proactively reviews Salesforce Releases to recommend and provide ongoing maintenance of applications. Presents complex design and solutions to senior leadership of Information/Digital Technology and Business. Provides technical guidance and system process expertise.

REQUIREMENTS: Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field and seven (7) years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Principal Systems Engineer or any occupation related to Software Development. Alternatively, must have a Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field with five (5) years of progressive, post-masters experience as a Principal Systems Engineer or any occupation related to Software Development. Must also have one (1) year of experience: (1) Developing Mobile Publisher applications and publishing to iOS and Android stores; (2) Executing deployment strategies for end-users to download, install, and use the Mobile Applications; and (3) Developing utilities for Application and System Administrators to simplify Metadata updates. Must also have four (4) years of experience: (4) Developing applications on Service Cloud and Community Cloud applications; (5) Reviewing all aspects of Salesforce Platform, including Lightning Framework, Asynchronous and Synchronous Integration methods, Continuous Integration Framework, and Salesforce DX (dev hub) to develop scalable solutions; (6) Using Salesforce Platform App Builder, Platform Developer, Data Architecture and Management Designer, and Integration Architecture domains; and (7) Utilizing Salesforce Visualforce, Apex, SOQL/ SOSL, Wave, and Einstein Analytics. All experience may be acquired concurrently. Remote work permitted in accordance with standard company policy. All positions require pre-employment background check verification and a preemployment drug screen.


SALARY: $165,173- $195,600 per year
