GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
Working in close collaboration with the Medical Director and Nurse Manager of the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center and receiving general direction from the Executive Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine (DGIM), the Administrative Director is responsible for the effective management of the strategic planning, operations, community engagement, finances, quality, staff recruitment, retention and development, and the general administrative functions of the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center, driving a range of initiatives to continually improve processes and performance. The Administrative Director also plays an important role ensuring close alignment and coordination between and across the MGH Charlestown HealthCare Center, the MGH Chelsea and Revere HealthCare Centers, the Division of General Internal Medicine, Department of Medicine, and Mass General Brigham.
This position requires a demonstrated commitment to equity and community health and a high degree of initiative and excellent judgment, strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to prioritize and manage a wide range of responsibilities and the experience needed to make decisions quickly and independently and appropriately escalate challenges as they arise.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working in close collaboration with the Medical Director, the Nurse Manager, and other members of the health center leadership team, the Administrative Director will:
* Ensure health center priorities and plans are effectively aligned, communicated, and understood across departments.
* Partner with stakeholders across the health center to accomplish key priorities.
* Evaluate and analyze data related to clinical and operational performance, identifying trends and issues, and facilitate the development of timely action plans toward performance improvement.
Clinical Operations, Community Health, Quality and Patient Safety and Staff Development
* Lead health center efforts to address community health issues in line with the strategic goals set by the health center, Division of General Internal Medicine, and MGB Community Health and Equity / United Against Racism.
* Serve as a liaison between the health center and community organizations.
* Conceptualize, produce and continue to refine operational analyses and projections to inform proactive decision-making.
* Coordinates with the MGH Planning Office and Buildings & Ground to manage the space and any necessary facility renovations;
* Ensure health center operations comply with hospital policies, DPH and Joint Commission regulations and local and state building, fire and safety codes.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree required. MBA, MPH or other comparable Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive management experience required, preferably in an ambulatory health care setting. Community Health Center experience is strongly preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office conditions. May be required to attend meetings outside of regularly scheduled hours and in the community.

* 6 direct reports
* The health center consists of ~90 FTEs
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The health center's annual budgets of ~$12M
