The McLean Hospital Division of Alcohol, Drugs, and Addiction is a highly productive clinical research environment that has led and participated in landmark studies in the field. Under the direction of R. Kathryn McHugh, PhD, the Stress, Anxiety and Substance Use Lab is seeking a research assistant to work on several ongoing National Institute on Drug Abuse funded projects on topics such as behavioral and biological mechanisms linking pain to opioid use disorder relapse, neurocognitive functioning in people with opioid and stimulant use disorder, and the contribution of suicidal thinking to opioid overdose risk.
Working under the supervision of a Senior Research Assistant, Manager or Principal Investigator and following established policies and procedures, provides assistance on clinical research studies. May be responsible for the following activities: recruiting and evaluating patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; performing clinical tests such as phlebotomy, EKG's, etc; maintaining and updating data generated by the study.
