GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for collecting and cleaning glassware and autoclaving solutions/consumables, in addition to miscellaneous duties as needed in the laboratory. Adequate performance in job is essential for research program which depends heavily on clean and sterile conditions.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Performs glassware washing and sterilization, sterilizes various solutions and biowaste. (Accounting for 90% of working time).
2. Performs miscellaneous tasks for various labs in Pathology Research.
3. Maintains established department policies, procedures and objectives, including the areas of quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control.
4. Performs all other duties and responsibilities as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires the ability to read and write English, maintain simple records and understand and transmit information orally.
Requires one to four weeks to learn needed techniques and procedures.
