Job Description

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to Supervisor I, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantor's Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel - and our customers - to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Cambridge, MA

Schedule: 1st Shift/ M-F 7am - 3:30pm or 7:30am - 4pm

Hourly Rate: $34.08

What we're looking for

* Education: Associates degree od undergraduate degree in business or science related field is preferred.

* Experience: 4 years equivalent experience in customer service/purchasing/ or account management, spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know a plus, cross referencing and inside sales experience a plus, knowledge of scientific products and services a plus

* Collaboration Tool: Knowledge of Information intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Oral and written communication (English & Spanish)

  • Driver's License, require

  • Conform to all customer requirements for background checks, health and safety, security clearances and medical checkups.

  • Knowledge of Information Access and ERP Systems

  • Excellent customer service skills; display a professional can do attitude

  • Basic purchasing and inventory knowledge

  • High regard for safety, quality and adherence to protocols, policies and procedures

  • Must be flexible, adaptable, and multi-task oriented

  • Ability to self-manage and self-motivate; forward thinking

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both customers and various departments within VWR

  • Understanding of, and ability to administer VWR's policies consistently

  • Ability to make sound business decisions with limited consultation with manager

Avantor's Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support. In this role you will:

  • Coordinate and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.

  • Coache and motivates team members to successfully perform job requirements and to meet / exceed goals and objectives.

  • Encourage through mentoring, individual professional growth and team growth.

  • Management of open order status reports, metrics and department reports, and SOP/SOW maintenance.

  • Provide training and development as well as back-up to associates to perform required tasks.

  • Perform administrative duties such as providing performance management input, time card review, vacation scheduling, etc.

  • Create and maintains: SOP's, SOW's, SPI's and KPI's.

  • Provides customer reporting and data analysis.

  • Acts as a liaison between customer, Avantor services and Avantor sales.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
