Job Description

The Serenity Center is a peer-run recovery center, a safe place where individuals seeking recovery from substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges can receive both individual and group peer recovery support. Peer Recovery Specialists (PRS's) leverage their lived experience to establish rapport, trust and instill hope that recovery is possible. On an individual level, evaluate a person's recovery capital and develop a recovery plan that is consistent with each person's unique strengths, needs, abilities and preferences. Run a variety of recovery groups throughout the day, drawing from twelve-step, SMART recovery, faith-based options and more. You must be open to supporting individuals along their recovery journey even if it is different from your own.

There is a difference between a Peer and a friend and you will be expected to adhere to strict standards of interactions.

This is life-saving work. If you are looking for a job where you feel that you are making a difference in someone's life, this is it. You will be supported by a strong team whose mission is to recognize the humanity in very person and uplift them .
