Systems Support Technician Summary:

The Systems Support Technician is responsible for providing on-site support for critical systems in a manufacturing plant. Provides a range of IT support services and training to assist users with issues and repairs. Performs or assists with installation, setup, upgrades, program functions, features, and troubleshooting. Our plant operations staff need immediate systems assistance when relying on automated package control functionality and hardware to continue operations. This resource is available for an immediate response.

Location: This position is on-site in Providence, RI.

Systems Support Technician Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides immediate in-person support for critical system or technology hardware issues.
• Assists with technology related training and new employee orientations.
• Ensures redundancy in critical solutions and performs the troubleshooting and if necessary, swap of critical system components to ensure operations continue in a timely manner.
• Creates and maintains system related training materials specific to their plant's operational needs.
• Triages and routes user issues to subject matter experts and higher-level support technicians as appropriate and necessary.
• Supports the implementation of new solutions or applications.
• Coordinates the repair and replacement of equipment as necessary.
• Dotted line accountability to the corporate IT group for all technical tasks.

• College degree or specialized training in computer systems.
• 1 - 2 years' experience supporting Windows 11, including software and driver installation preferred.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to triage and troubleshoot system issues.
• Experience with a variety of software, hardware, and applications.
• Ability to work fast under pressure. Excellent prioritization and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a solid understanding of network protocols (i.e. DNS, DHCP, and TCPIP).
• Must have a working knowledge of network hardware such as switches, firewalls, access points, etc
• A+, Network+, and / or Security+ certifications preferred.
