General Summary of Position:

Cost Assurance Team has an opening for a Cost Audit Analyst to focus on identifying expected cost through contracts, quotes, and internal Cost Management System data. The analyst will be dedicated to monitoring the POTS (telephone service) product line to add and maintain expected cost coverage including wholesale, resale, and cost optimization plans. Analyst will leverage Excel, SQL, and PowerPivot to cross reference datasets to accomplish tasks and improve coverage to drive internal reporting (various reports and cubes).

Along with determining expected costs, the analyst will monitor existing costs to determine if under or overbillings exist and take applicable action, including disputing/collaborating with internal groups to accrue underbilled costs. The billing disputes will require monitoring for carrier responses in order to recoup credits or updated internal databases to reflect new expected costs.

Lastly, the analyst will assist with Cost-no-Revenue review to improve the bottom line by reviewing services that either are not found in Granite's internal inventory or are actively missing revenue charges.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review contracts, quotes, and internal cost management system data to identify and store expected costs
  • Audit under and over billings to determine validity and take applicable action (Dispute/Accrue)
  • Submit timely, well documented disputes to vendors for erroneous billing via the standardized dispute process
  • Review carrier responses to recoup credits or updated expected costs accordingly
  • Perform Ad Hoc audits on high priority initiatives.
  • Review Cost-no-Revenue services to determine the root cause and drive resolution forward to improve Granite's bottom line.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experienced in understanding audit concepts, and data analysis.
  • Excellent research skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Self-Motivated-Ability to work equally well under supervision and independently.
  • Comfortable in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power Pivot or Power BI.
  • Understand SQL or similar database languages.
  • Proven success and interest in process improvements.
  • Prior experience in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Strong data mining and analytical skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
