SUMMARY

The Audio Technician will provide exceptional onsite audio support at Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place for all events held throughout the year. The Audio Technician will oversee the operation, maintenance, inventory, and repairs of all sound systems (interior/exterior), including stadium intercom systems.

Additionally, the Audio Technician will either assist or perform in the procedures to set, operate, and strike audio equipment for internal and external events. Furthermore, the Audio Technician will ensure best in class audio experiences at Gillette Stadium and Patriot Place.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Execute preventative maintenance and troubleshoot issues with audio mixing equipment, speakers, microphones, cabling, and more.
  2. Manage inventory and operate various audio equipment from hard wired and wireless microphones, IFB, video playback servers, intercoms, and more.
  3. Setup, maintain, and operate high complexity audio and intercom systems throughout various venues and spaces.
  4. Management of emergency and Hard of Hearing (HOH) announcement systems.
  5. Supervise and train teams of part-time or freelance audio-visual technicians to fulfill needs of external and/or internal events.
  6. Oversee the installation, commission, and repair of audio equipment, interfaces, and routing to meet event needs.
  7. Establish and maintain Audio System Standard Operating Procedures.
  8. Special projects and assignments as business dictates
  9. Responsible for the maintenance, creation and control of all personally identifiable information or any other information protected by any Confidentiality or Privacy Standards or Company Policies that you have access or knowledge of, including but not limited to any state or federal regulations including HIPAA.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of Associate Degree or equal Technical Degree in audio engineering and/or 5 years of experience in audio engineering
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience as an A1 in the live sports production, broadcast station operations, or event production field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of audio industry standards for live events and broadcast technologies as well as best practices, and service programs.
  • Experience with video routers, audio and video I/O and an IP Based video production workflow a plus.
  • Knowledge of information technology systems, network infrastructure and operations is a plus.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently troubleshoot all audio systems to eliminate downtime.
  • Provide the expertise and use of necessary tools to repair audio mixing equipment, audio cabling, microphones, etc.
  • Ideal candidates will have familiarity in the following systems, products, or software: Dante, MADI, AES67, Evertz, SMPTE 2110, Ross, Crown, JBL, Sound Architect, RTS Intercom Systems, Yamaha digital mixing console or equivalent, and Calrec digital mixing console or equivalent.
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • Strong customer focus.
  • Self-starter, able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
  • Be able to work effectively with other departments receiving and communicating instructions.
  • Be able to read and understand technical materials.
  • Able to set priorities under pressure of deadlines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, bend and be able to lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to climb a ladder.
  • Must have full range of motion and dexterity.
  • Must have a flexible schedule including nights, mornings, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
  • Comfortable working through extreme temperature changes outdoor outdoors in inclement weather, including exposure to bright lights, loud noise, and dust.
