Job Description

We are searching for Construction Supervisor - IV for 1 yr. contract assignment.

This role will be for an onsite mechanical inspector for the solar projects. The role will be working with mechanical assemblages on the tilt motors, the tilt mechanical components that tilt assemblies in addition to the panels themselves. Will manage the entire project lifecycle from project definition through implementation. Accountable for meeting agreed upon scope, cost, schedule, and quality measures.

Location: 100% onsite at the Solar project in Becker, MN

Job Duties & Responsibilities

This person will also assist with the installation of inverter vaults and different kind of just components; working with the civil inspector to verify that everything is installed appropriately and everything inside of them is working correctly. It is in support of a large solar field generating site.

  • 50% in the field working with engineers, other inspectors, etc. performing inspections in the field as well as field safety observations and following up on anything that is noted to ensure that it is completed.
  • 50% in the site office trailer completing tasks such routine computer work; reviewing work plans, reviewing, drawing sets, reviewing contractor submittals at or transmittals whatever it may be.
  • In addition, this resource will be working on project communications, as mentioned, writing a report, creation of NCR's (Nonconformance reports), if needed and follow up on those for project tracking to identify what work is being done and what work is coming up.
  • This is a large diverse team including electrical engineers, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, multiple disciplines of superintendents, civil Superintendents, electrical superintendents, electrical commissioning agents and admin staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have at least 5-10 yrs. - construction mechanical
  • Microsoft 365 or Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Blue Beam is a PDF tool that is used a lot as well in addition to Google Earth which is a system/program.
  • Must be a self-starter; shows initiative.
  • Must have a working knowledge of mechanical systems in general. Not HVAC; mechanical or different experience with things in motion.
  • A general understanding of how things work on the mechanical side of any kind of a construction activity with a general knowledge or a good base of construction.
  • General understanding of construction and construction sites from start to finish, so that they're aware of and they can recognize the hazard presented to them, which is critical to this role.
  • Experience with Electrical safety a general knowledge of electrical safety because some of the inspections may be around potentially energized equipment.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
