(UHS), has an immediate opening for a per diem Housekeeper/EVS worker in North Stonington, CT. Stonington Institute is committed to providing quality substance abuse treatment options for adults in Southeastern Connecticut and surrounding areas. We offer medical detox as well as residential addictions treatment for active duty and retired military service members in our North Stonington location. Our clinic in Groton, CT, offers partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment, and is conveniently located across the street from The Inn at Trails Corner, a new 180 bed dormitory-style sober community for adult men and women who attend our outpatient day treatment programs. The Inn offers overnight accommodations, full-meal service, indoor/outdoor recreation options, a workout room, and computer center for all clients.

Job Summary:

The Housekeeper/EVS worker ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and a safe environment for all clients and staff at Stonington Institute, with as little disruption as possible. Each building will be cleaned daily. Housekeepers interact with clients and staff and must have a pleasant and professional attitude.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain the orderliness of areas and assigned rooms.
  • Clean, mop, and vacuum floors and rugs.
  • Dust furniture, light fixtures, windowsills and baseboards.
  • Spot wash walls and door handle areas.
  • Replenish paper supplies in restrooms as needed.
  • Empty and clean wastebaskets.
  • Clean and scour restrooms.
  • Clean units for incoming residents.
  • Strip and make beds as needed.
  • Wash, dry and fold linens, towels and client laundry.
  • Distribute clean bed linens and towels.
  • Wash windows.
  • Clean blinds on a rotating basis.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary.

This is a fper diem position. Must be able to work flexible hours. Weekends and holidays required.

Qualifications

Must be knowledgeable of the fundamentals of house cleaning and have the ability to work well with people. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. One-year training or experience.
