Ciena's Routing & Switching software team is looking for Principal Software Engineer with Computer Engineering or equivalent graduate degree.
- You will be contributing in the areas of design, deployment, evaluation and testing of high-performance packet processing software for cloud-native, virtual and baremetal platforms.
- Develop and integrate software into Ciena's edge computing software solutions to implement and enhance functionality, reliability, and scalability.
- Test, debug and verify functionality of Ciena's software solutions in different configuration modes, troubleshoot and identify root causes of product deficiencies, and develop resolutions for the deficiencies
What Does Ciena Expect of You?
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development for networking products
- The desired candidate must have strong analytical skills and expertise in at least one programming language, preferably C/C++/Python along with Linux, virtual and cloud-native technologies.
- Experience with SmartNICs, SR-IOV, NUMA, DPDK and related technologies
- Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages
- Experience with virtual platforms like KVM, OpenStack, VMware ESXi
- > Experience with cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Helm, microservice architectures, container technologies
